somebody please put a sock in her mouth

Sally Kern
Oklahoma State Representative
House District 84

"...every day our young people... are bombarded at school, in movies, in music, on TV, in the mall, in magazines, they’re bombarded with ‘homosexuality is normal and natural.’ It’s something they have to deal with every day. Fortunately we don’t have to deal with a terrorist attack every day, and that’s what I mean... that it’s more dangerous, and yes I think that it’s also more dangerous because it will tear down the moral fiber of this nation."

Preferably a very colorful sock:

previously worn by one of these proud gentlemen:

You can to listen to Sally Kernaphobic for yourself, here.

Seriously? I am ashamed people still voice such things in public. Or in private. So disgusting.

Girl Next Door -- I would truly like to conduct a poll and ask our "young people" if they feel "bombarded." I'm willing to bet that Rep. Kernaphobic will be disappointed to learn that most kids, secure kids, are happy to accept gay, appreciate that human beings come wrapped in different packages, inside and out.

Big deal. Grow up.

It took me a couple of readings to even get what she was trying to say. One of the most incoherent babblings of bigotry I've read in a long time. And as a middle school teacher I can say (by anecdotal not scientific evidence), that kids don't appear to feel "bombarded" by gay messages.

Cannot even go there.

My hope is that as our generation teaches our kids that gay is normal, idiots like this woman will fade away.

my son just asked me last night what "gay" means. i was glad he did so I could tell him matter-of-factly and clearly. and if he is "bombarded' with messages that gay is OK? well good, because it is. Some people I love a lot are gay and they are AWESOME!

Oh, and seriously, she's comparing being gay to being a terrorist? wow.

I also had to read it twice to understand what she was trying to say. She's an idiot!

Is it just me or does the world seem to get crazier by the day?

How can someone be so hateful?

I hear this in Utah all the time. But I still cannot grasp why on earth hearing about gays is "dangerous." Really, what's it going to do? ??? I have no clues.
Also, I cannot grasp why anyone would think that gay marriage would somehow have an undermining effect on hetero marriage. Exactly how? How does a gay marriage cancel out or break up a hetero marriage? Surely, it's a mystery.

I'll hold her hair but someone else might have to pry her mouth open.

English Teacher -- If anything, there's an argument to be made that gay marriage protects hetero marriage. You won't have gays entering traditional man-woman marriages in order to hide their sexuality. Which equals fewer divorces, fewer kids hurt by divorce, healthier marriages in later generations.

Yes, LOVING RELATIONSHIPS will RUIN OUR WORLD. Clearly the devil is controlling her tongue.

LOL! I have a transgender sock. I'll have to wear it a few days longer though, I want to make sure the taste lingers!

Wow. Seriously? I don't even know what to say. I'm still trying to figure out how it's even possible for someone to connect the two with eachother. People amaze me, and once again; NOT in the good way.

Kelli -- I think a TG sock would be even better!

More proof of how twisted thinking becomes when it is based on ignorance and what people are taught to believe instead of reality.
