The evaluation is complete. The tests interpreted. The diagnosis is in.
The One Hundred Twelfth United States Congress suffers from TCTDDD (Tax Cut Trickle Down Delusional Disorder).
Haldol, anyone?

And if the Bush tax cuts were so great to start with, why did they not keep us out of this recession?
FUBAR.
I have cynically deduced that one of the best guides to what to expect once someone is elected is to expect the opposite of their campaign tag line. Bush gave us eight years that was neither "compassionate" or "conservative." His radical policies (these tax cuts during a time when we are waging TWO expensive wars for example) have been devastating. Sadly, the same is true about Obama's "change we can believe in." It seems rather hopeless.
jenn - exactly.
magpie - it feels that way.
lee - this morning on NPR I heard rumblings of a democratic revolt on this tax extension deal. looking forward to hearing more. because this deal will put us MORE in the hole. wtf?
If there was a way to make only the "conservatives" and those who vote for them feel the pain of their choices, I would go for that - but we all get dragged into the mess they are making.
Don't all millionaires need tax relief? More than the little folk, surely.
There's another smack-your-head voting issue now, the DREAM legislation which is stalled from coming to the floor. It would allow citizenship for undocumented aliens who served two years in the military or got a college degree in the US. After all, we don't want educated citizens or those who serve their country.
Don't even get me started....
this just makes my head hurt. it's why I avoid current events and just drift along in my own narcissistic world full of showtunes and english toffee...because other wise I'd be so pissed and frustrated I wouldn't be able to get through the day.
That cartoon is....amazing. Perfect.
Amazing right?
Just wanted to take the opportunity to wish you Season's Greetings and Best Wishes in the New Year.
Peace,
Debbie
