Christmas cut out sugar cookies.
Chocolate chip cookies with red & green M&Ms.
Raspberry thumb print cookies.
Pot of gumbo.
Fresh cranberry garland for the Christmas tree.
Cranberry bread.
What I did manage to accomplish:
Two days on the couch with a heating pad under my neck.
My neck seized while I was engaged in the complicated arm pretzel yoga pose known as "brushing hair into a downward bun." Crick in the neck sounds deceptively minor, doesn't it?
The other thing I accomplished, which was quite wonderful, was to curl up on the playroom pull out couch with my twin-daughters-as-book-ends watching Brittany Murphy in Love and Other Disasters. Cute, cute, cute movie.
Also? My daughters taught me how to watch my Netflix instant queue on the big screen TV via the Wii. Now there are three words I hadn't heard of back when my girlies were born.
Hope you are all enjoying a very Merry, very restful and very pain free Christmas day!

I've heard good things about that movie--moving it to the top of the queue now.
"Pain in the neck" is an accurate cliche for a reason--nothing is right when you're in pain like that.
Feel better soon!
Oh golly. I hope you feel better soon.
Oops sorry, that was me, not anonymous.
Yikes! Hope you are on the mend. And don't get me started on the words that weren't around when my twins were born in 1991! ~~~
I thought that movie was cute, too. My twins were not both home this year - except on Skype for a while! Hope you are on the mend.
Can we spin your neck seizure into some sort of "well, you didn't REALLY need to be doing all that baking anyhow" type of thing?
If it means you got a cuddle and a movie watched, then it has to be a good thing, right?
okay...so, even though i don't really care for that whole 'pain in the neck' thing you had happening, that 'hanging on the sofa with a heating pad and movies' does sound good!!
I hope you're better soon.
by the way...i've ordered the first two books you recomended for my back (the yoga one and the exercise one)....am hoping that some good happens from those.
thanks so much for all your help...i do so appreciate it...and i hope i appreciate it even more in about 2 weeks!!! ;-)
I've had neck seizures too. Heat patches, anti-inflamatories, rest, gentle cranio-sacral massage. And the hardest thing, patience. Hope you're healing and feeling better every day.
Cookies are over-rated, except for butt padding.
Ow ow ow!! hope you are having the girlies wait on you hand and foot while you have the opportunity!
Sugar cookies are overrated. (whoops, Kathleen beat me to it)
Ow ow ow!! hope you are having the girlies wait on you hand and foot while you have the opportunity!
Oh dear, feel better soon. Your couch activity sounds wonderful, though. Quite Christmas-y enough for me.
my kids laughed when I WROTE DOWN THE DIRECTIONS to use the netflix on the wii. So I didn't. And now I don't remember how to do it. little buggers!
I hate that our bodies fail us at any moment.
Peacefully good times with your daughters sounds like an awesome way to spend part of the holiday!
Sorry to hear that - I hope it's cleared up and that you're having a great new year so far :)
Yeesh, yes crick in the neck is a common description that makes far less of an impact than it needs to! I have a regular crick in my neck, and it's PAINFUL!
Anyway, hope your holidays were fabulous, despite what you didn't accomplish (which is apparently the same list I had).
