blog neglect - guilty as charged

It's been so long since I've posted. I wish I could say the reason for my neglect is that I was vacationing at some gloriously beautiful destination like the one pictured above ... and ... well actually, I will say that.

Because it's true.

San Francisco. Muir Woods. Santa Cruz. Henry Cowell State Park. Monterey. Big Sur. My dream vacation. First trip to California (I know, I know). I loved every minute and have so much gratitude that I got to see it all with my husband and three kids.

That's Big Sur's McWay Falls in the picture. Taken by my own hands with my own trusty camera. No swiping of google images for this cup of yogurt. No sur.

And recovering from this vacation? An acute episode of post vacation blues, people. It has taken quite a lot out of me, this returning to normalcy. So please bear with me while I adjust to life back in Dulltown at my house on Hotashell Boulevard.

Did you check out Deetjen's while you were in Big Sur? Great place to eat and an even better place to stay. I love that part of the country and understand the difficulty returning to "regular" life. Welcome back.

Beautiful picture. And I'm having the same trouble adjusting to normal life. So I'm solving it by leaving tomorrow for the one place in the country that might be hotter and more humid than ATX - Atlanta. Ugh.

Excuse accepted. Glad you got to recharge your batteries.

It looks so beautiful. I'm currently experiencing post holidays blues as well...

I can relate to it. Just returned from London, and felt like there was just too much at once, and I had no time to process it for blogging.

ATX in the summer time is not an easy place to return to. Beautiful picture.

California is a great place to...VISIT. I wouldn't want to live there, though. Too Liberal, can't speak Spanish and I prefer the heat and humidity of the South. But I am glad you had a good time with the family.

I was thrilled to hear that you had such a great visit. I am also sorry that your visit came at a time I was too busy to get to meet you.

Hope you settle in soon and enjoy the rest of your summer.

I hope another California vacay is in your plans. We can meet up if you want to visit Lake Tahoe. And a picturesque gold rush town.

Crystal -- I did not see Deetjen's. Next time. Because there WILL be a next time.

Aunt Snow -- I know I came up with several blog posts in my head but moving too fast and seeing too much to take time to write down my ideas. So I'm afraid they are mostly lost.

Andrea -- So close and yet so far (in a rental car with three teens. we might not have survived all the way to LA)

Sassy B -- Lake Tahoe and the giant Sequoias are on Sam's and my bucket list.

What a great vacation! Maybe worth the post-vacation blues? Glad you had a good time.

Glad to know you're good. Better, really, since you soaked your psyche in some of the most amazing views in the world.

And of COURSE you've got post-vacation blues. Part of the package. Wine is good medicine for this, preferably one from northern California...

Wow, that looks absolutely beautiful. What were the people like? I haven't heard very nice things about Californians.
