fox news: the new pravda?

As a liberal who has voluntarily ripped out her own fingernails debated with conservative friends, I've been called a "commie pinko" once or twice (name calling: the art of defending beliefs against opponents who use facts to back up theirs).

So I hope I can be forgiven my retaliatory style when it is to Fox News I say, "Your pink is showing."

According to Think Progress, Fox News used a six month old clip of Joe Biden claiming, "the Obama administration is now singing a slightly different tune."

What Fox didn't say was that the clip was taken months prior, during the Obama/McCain campaign, and that Biden was quoting John McCain.

Instead, Fox anchor Martha MacCallum tells viewers to "take a look at what was said during recent interviews this weekend."

Has anyone without a medically disabling memory condition forgotten Biden's stump speech where he hammered away at McCain, claiming he was out of touch with the shaky economic conditions?

Apparently, Fox depends on their viewers not remembering anything prior to the segment aired five minutes ago. Check out the Pravda Fox News clip, here.

All I know is, if you express a political opinion, there WILL be an argument.

All of them make me eat my teeth.Rhetorical fallacy has become reporting. It's hard to find any info that allows us to think for ourselves. I feel as if I have to listen to various, biased sources and then average them.

Clearly a[nother] sign of some creepy conservative brainwashing going on. You're sure you weren't watching a report from The Onion?

Outrageousness.

i grew up in a household where I was told Fox was the only one telling the Truth! THAT is my excuse in life people. That's all I'm sayin'....

blognut -- in a word, YES

margo -- I do find Fox particularly egregious. They purport to be a News station, not an opinion station. I don't have a problem with the Sean Hannity's and the Keith Olbermann's, as they are clearly opinion makers.

girl next door -- My grandma used to be in a nursing home. She and her roommate were bed-bound. Someone always turned the news on to Fox. In all the rooms. Used to piss me off.

Are we surprised? Isn't Fox news known for this type of thing? I'm surprised people still watch them with their reputation in the media!

good god.

I never watch Fox. It just seems so inane within 20 seconds.

I wonder if anyone at Fox News knows what Pravda was. I certainly know few of their viewers do.

The entire media is make believe. Its just sad that people like you and those that bash one network, thow stones in glass houses. I have an idea (that means I thought of it on my own), if you want to know the truth, or seek the truth on any issue, why not do the research yourself? It eliminates any bias that any news media will push down your windpipe. With that said I see no one in here upset that 95% of the news media outlets have a Liberal Agenda. Oh...thats right, you are Liberals, that explains it.
By the way, arent Liberals the self proclaimed open minded, understanding, peace loving, compassionate group? I see none of this anytime I go and see what the other side is thinking. Maybe we can come up with a bi-partisan new discription of the Liberal movement? How about.....tolerant unless its something i dont beleive in? Cheerio!

Fox News = Pravda! That's a good one...
I don't know how someone could call them selfs conservatives... Not even the conservative party (Moderates) in Sweden will call them selfs conservatives anymore... but instead social liberals, because they don't want to scare the voters away. They ate now competing with the socialdemocrates who is the most socialist party... The world is upside down! ;-)
