WWPD: What would Palin do?

Don Haase was appointed by current Alaska Governor Sean Parnell (R) to sit on their state's Judicial Council, a panel that nominates state judges.

Haase testified Wednesday that he believes it should be illegal for Alaskans to have sex outside of marriage.

Yes, you read that right. Haase wants to see Alaskans prosecuted for the crime of pre-marital sex.

For some reason I find myself wondering... would former Governor Sarah Palin back this guy's political agenda?

You can read more about the appointee, here.

BTW - I see you're reading Hornby's book. I really liked that one. Made me laugh out load several times. Are you liking it so far?

If it weren't for the fact that I know some awesome people in Alaska, I'd think the whole state was effed up.

Jason, as himself said...

Unbelievable. And just how do they plan to do this?

WWPD. So great.

It's official. This country has gone crazy.

unreal.I don't think that the penalty would be prison time... however the fines could be significant enough to pad the state's coffers. Imagine being fined for each time you had unmarried sex!!! (And does it count if you don't climax?)

You've got to be kidding...hahaha!

So how would he plan to enforce that, I wonder? Correct me if I'm wrong, but Alaska is kinda... you know... big. How would he come up with the funds for a sex police squad for even just the city of Juneau? And would they be staking out all possible make-out locations? A sex-snitch hotline, maybe?

Americans are such a rich source of entertainment ;) I heart you guys.

Catherine - So, in a sense unmarried Alaskans would be paying to have sex. Kinda like prostitution.

Jenn @YKTB - My greatest fear, to be lumped in with the far right wackos. Puhleeese! All Americans Are Not Alike!

Oh my goodness...this is so silly. Alaska would be an even colder state if this law passed.

so....would there be like a 'sex squad'? sorry, but, i'm flashing on the opening of HillStreet Blues..."let's be careful out there".
hahahahaha!!!
sorry...i know this guy is serious, but...really...seriously????
~~sigh~~

If that means extramarital affairs, too, then they'd all better be wary....I like our laws down here where anything goes;)

That is just so wrong!

Oh...this is too good. BYU lost the race to the Final Four in part because they kicked off a star player for premarital sex.

So, are they going to send folks to jail for doing the ficky-ficky? And when will the video of this guy abusing little boys come out?

Hell... down here in Mississississississississippi (someone tell me when to stop with the "S's"...) it's illegal to sell vibrators... I guess dildos are ok, or grocery stores wouldn't be able to see cucumbers... (hahaha... I typed 'cum').

Not surprising, really. I mean it was a matter of time--the conservatives already want to legislate birth control and gay sex, so why not premarital?

So much crazy out there right now.

How do they expect the towns people and attractive travelers to keep themselves warm!?
