Because when I wake up? I'll be a half-century old.
Next stop, Old City.
So, yeah. These are my last few minutes of 40-something.
I remember that I liked saying I was 30-something.
It was a cool, hip television show.
I took pride in 40-something.
Visions of a woman in her sexual peak.
But 50-something. Where is the comfort in that?
So tomorrow? I will gladly accept gratuitous gifts of
TLC.

Nifty Fifties! Enjoy and a happy happy happy birthday.
Happy birthday!
I imagine that 50 means knowing who you are and not caring what anybody else thinks or says.
I know that I much prefer my 30s to my 20s. And as much as I love my little people I look forward to a time when I have a bit of time for myself.
I can't speak to being 50, since I just turned 40. But happy happy birthday. I hope it's a good one.
I'm excited that we have the same birthday! I'm also excited that a number is a number is a number.
So happy birthday to a witty and wise woman who isn't a particular age, she just...is.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY
Happy Birthday Hon!!! {{hugs}}
I know I'm not going to be excited to head on into 50, I'm already dreading it and I'm a year and a half away. It's the first time I'm dreading a milestone birthday.
Wow, there's not really very much TLC in that comment!
It really is just a number! Do something you absolutely love today!
Happy Birthday! We're all heading in that general direction. You're a trailblazer.
Happy birthday! :)
Happy Birthday! You're not growing older, you're growing better!I also agree with K.
"Nifty fifty" -- I like that!
Happy birthday!
you've reached that age where you get to just say what you think and to hell with the repercussions. That's worth it!
Happy belated birthday! And I'm sure that your 50's will be just as great as your 40's! Older and wiser, right? :)
Oh happy birthday to you!!
Don't let it get you down, it's truly only a number. Of course, I say that with such ease because I stopped having birthdays at 39 and now only have anniversaries of that one each year ;)
Hope you're entirely spoiled by your loved ones and make it a great day of memories. *hugs* and best wishes!!
Happy Birthday...and 50 is nothing. In fact, you will receive more respect as the elder person in the group. You will start saying things like, "...I remember when..." and your giddy-up is a little slower. But you will enjoy it, too. It's better than being on the South Side of the Dirt.
The 50's are cool... you are going to have to trust me on this... ;o)
~shoes~
happy belated birthday. I heard on the radio that happiness peaks in your eighties! So things only get better! Enjoy!
Many happy returns! I hope it turns out to be a fantastic decade!
Happy Birthday! You don't look a day over 35.
I think Miss Clairol said it best: "You're not getting older, you're getting better!"
i've thought about you for the last day now....you and your "rounding 2nd base" idea....i've decided that i'd like to take some time and hand out in right field for awhile, if that's okay. ;-)
but...on the other hand...turning 50 doesn't freak me out so much anymore. i see women who have passed that particular milestone (Cheri, for example) and many of the women who come to my classes everyday (now you!!) and, honestly? i'm getting more comfortable with this.
I hope you had a great day....cake, presents, flowers and lots of laughter!!!
Ack, I missed it - Happy (Belated) Birthday!!!
A late happy birthday!! Something tells me you are going to totally rock the 50s.
Eh, you're the same age as my little sister. A youngster.
Happy birthday, CY. Just be glad you're not down here..you'd have been 50 a day earlier.
Cliched as it sounds, it's just a number so unless you suddenly start going for a blue rinse, wearing elasticated stockings and Bridget Jones knickers, I wouldn't worry too much.
In any case, it's better than the alternative.
Hope you have the fabulous day you deserve.
Aaaak! I'm so sorry to have missed your birthday! I love your friend Cheri! Yeah Girl!
Honestly, it's a subject near and dear to all of us...our society could POSSIBLY be changing its focus on youth...look at all them older rock n rollers...we are in good company. And they are all older than us, BTW.
Hope you have a great year/decade.
You know that show "Desperate Housewives?"
All those ladies make 50 look fabulous! (They're all 50, right? It's just the Botox making them look 23?)
